A stand-out piece of late 20th century Scandinavian design, this now retired ‘Tradig’ fruit basket by Ehlen Johansson for Ikea finely balances form and function. So Swedish. Fill it with your favourite fruit or let it stand alone as the iconoclast it is. The metal powder coated finish in white is hard to find. This one stands 20cm high and 30cm in diameter. It’s in perfect vintage condition.
A highly sought-after international collectible, this Tamara Aladin designed geometric vase is strikingly Scandinavian. Part of the ‘Kehra’ (‘Spindle’) collection for Finland’s renowned Riihima glass company, it was made in the 1970s in true Brutalist form. It is squarish with a textured surface and features three raised rings on each side, separated by two waisted bands. It is 21cm high and 9.5cm in diameter. It is a masterpiece, in excellent vintage condition.
Put a ring on it. Designed for the Nordic glass company by Timo Sarpaneva in the ‘60s, the Iittala Festivo candle holder has become an international collector’s favourite. An iconic object of Finnish design, the glass surface imitates melting ice. The 1-ring measures 7.5cm high and about 7.5cm in diameter at the base. The $60 price is for each one. All 3 available are in excellent vintage condition.
